Osteopathy for

Health, Wellbeing & Performance

Osteopathy is a holistic system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.

Osteopathy aims to maximize and maintain your body’s function, overall well-being, movement and strength.

Holism is a core osteopathic principle, centered on the notion that “the body is a unit”. Therefore, our approach to health takes the view that the cause of pain in one particular area may not originate from that specific location, and our goal is to find the root cause of your pain and treat YOU as a whole, not just your symptoms.

We will look at your posture and how you move your body. We may also assess what happens when we move it for you and see what hurts, where and when. A wide range of gentle, non-invasive manual techniques such as joint articulation, manipulation and soft tissue techniques and movement therapy are applied. Treatment is unique to YOUR ability, YOUR function and YOUR goals and will not be the same as the client before or after you.

We may sometimes feel that immediate treatment is not appropriate and can refer you for further clinical tests, such as X-rays or an M.R.I, if we think you need them.
